Before setting off on an excursion in the Dolomites, it is always a good idea to check the weather forecast.
I would not only rely on national weather forecasting websites: they can be useful for general information. Instead, for an excursion in the Dolomites, consult at least one of the websites of the mountain weather stations
Since the Dolomites extend over three regions, Veneto, Trentino-Alto Adige and Friuli-Venezia Giulia, each of these regions has weather forecasting stations that monitor limited areas and therefore, in my opinion, provide more reliable forecasts.
Here are the sites I consult before planning a hike in the Dolomites.
Dolomiti Meteo weather report
Every day at 1 p.m. the ARPAV weather stations in Teolo (PD) and Arabba (BL) issue a new Dolomiti Meteo weather forecast bulletin, with updates at 4 p.m. and 9 a.m. the following morning for the current day. This bulletin is very relevant to the Veneto Dolomites area: Cortina d’Ampezzo, Cadore, Comelico, Auronzo, Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Marmolada, Arabba, Val Fiorentina, Pelmo, Civetta, Agordino, Val Di Zoldo, Dolomiti Bellunesi, Vette Feltrine, Val Canzoi, Valle del Mis, Lago di Santa Croce, to name but a few places and valleys.
Meteo Trentino Weather Forecast
Meteo Trentino weather forecasts are relevant to the Dolomites of Madonna di Campiglio, Val Primiero, Pale di San Martino and Val di Fassa, and in general to the Western Dolomites.
